Our Lump Charcoal
Quality is paramount in the making of our lump charcoal:
  • Only the best quality fine grain hardwoods are used
  • No scrap wood from construction, or off cuts from board production are included so you will not find any industrial residue such as nails or screws in the bag
  • There are no additives in our charcoal and no blackened beams only 100% hardwood

Making our Lump Charcoal
The best quality lump charcoal depends on the most exacting production process. Selected hardwood is carefully stacked and lit. The fire burns slowly eliminating the moisture in the wood leaving only non-toxic wood charcoal with 80% carbon content and a homely smell just ready to cook your food on. The charcoal is broken into pieces and carefully packed for delivery.

The secret of the best charcoal is a high carbon content combined with low moisture content and low residue. This is what makes our lump charcoal a winner!

Using our Lump Charcoal
Lump charcoal is easy to light. Use hardboard pieces and pieces of newspaper crumpled into balls. To make it very easy you may use starter blocks but if you do wait 20 to 25 minutes for the petroleum to burn off before you start cooking.

Our lump charcoal heats faster than conventional briquettes and is ready to use in 10 to 15 minutes. Best of all it burns for much longer – over 3 hours! Keeping the fire going is as easy as adding more charcoal, no need to remove uncooked food or wait for the fire to heat up.
