The absolute pleasure of the BBQ is that it is a time for family and friends to get together relax and talk, over a simple but delicious meal. People can do pretty much what they feel like doing, chat, play with the children or stretch out on the lawn. Lindsay Standers of Vancouver shares her story:
“My BBQ story is a simple but special one. I am the cook and housekeeper in our family. One Sunday I came back from the weekly shop to find a car parked in my space and the aroma of a charcoal fire coming from the porch.

My kitchen was filled with family members putting the finishing touches to salads, wrapping potatoes in foil ready for the fire and my husband proudly carrying the meat and corn out to the BBQ. The perfect cooks day off!”
